We always start with the framework to set the context for the journey a business is about to embark on.

It's all about helping a business get as close to 100% strong as possible in all the key components of their business.

Truth be told, most businesses are limping along at 20-40% strong in each area.

Helping them grow from wherever they are to 80-100% strong is a life-changing experience for them—and incredibly gratifying work for you.

But you can't do this without a framework.

The Problem: Expertise Trapped in Your Head

You've spent 15-20 years in corporate leadership. You've solved complex problems, led teams, driven revenue, delivered results under pressure.

That expertise is incredibly valuable.

But it's locked inside your head as a collection of experiences, instincts, and lessons learned.

What Makes a Great Framework?

Not all frameworks are created equal. You've probably seen plenty of fancy diagrams that look impressive but don't actually help clients make progress.

A truly effective framework has three components:

1. Levels: Where Are They Now vs. Where Could They Be?

Clients need context. They need to understand where they are in their journey and where they could be.

A levels-based framework gives clients:

  • Self-awareness: "I'm stuck at Level 2, that's why I feel this way"

  • Motivation: "I can see what Level 4 looks like, and I want that"

  • Progress tracking: "Six months ago I was at Level 2, now I'm at Level 3"

Example structure:

  • Level 1: Chaos/Overwhelm

  • Level 2: Overworked/Reactive

  • Level 3: Organized/Proactive

  • Level 4: Strategic/Overseer

  • Level 5: Owner/Freedom

Without levels, clients don't see how far they've come or how much further they could go.

2. Pillars: The Big-Picture Categories

Once clients understand where they are, they need to understand what areas need attention.

Pillars are the major categories that encompass everything you work on.

Keep it simple—ideally 3-5 pillars maximum.

Example structure:

  • Pillar 1: Vision & Strategy (Where are we going?)

  • Pillar 2: Execution & Operations (How do we get there?)

  • Pillar 3: Team & Leadership (Who will help us?)

Each pillar represents a major domain. When a client brings up a challenge, you quickly identify which pillar it falls under. This helps you see patterns, identify blind spots, and address the business holistically.

3. Roadmap: The Step-by-Step Path

Levels show where they are. Pillars show what areas matter. The roadmap shows what to do next.

A good roadmap:

  • Provides structure (clients know what comes first, second, third)

  • Reduces overwhelm (they don't have to figure out everything at once)

  • Creates accountability (you track progress against specific steps)

  • Builds confidence (completing each step creates momentum)

Example structure:

A 6-9 step roadmap that moves sequentially:

  1. Align the team around a shared vision

  2. Define strategy and priorities

  3. Build the 90-day execution plan

  4. Optimize cash flow and profitability

  5. Scale revenue systems

  6. Systematize operations

  7. Establish KPIs and tracking

  8. Foster leadership development

  9. Build a self-managing team

How These Work Together

In your first session with a client:

  • You assess where they are on the Levels ("You're at Level 2—overworked and reactive")

  • You identify which Pillars need attention ("Your biggest gap is Execution & Operations")

  • You map where they are on the Roadmap ("We need to start with Step 3: Building a 90-day plan")

In every subsequent session:

  • You review progress along the Roadmap

  • You track movement up the Levels

  • You ensure all Pillars are being addressed over time

This gives both you and your client clarity, confidence, and direction.

They're never wondering "What are we doing?" or "Is this working?" because the framework makes progress visible.

Why You Need a Framework (Not Just "Experience")
